Qipco 2000 Guineas Stakes (Group 1)

As ever, Ballydoyle have a tight grip on the 2000 Guineas market. Churchill, their short priced 122-rated son of Galileo comes mob-handed with pacemakers.

But this shapes to be a compelling showdown; ranged against the 5-time winner are the sons of Dream Ahead, Excelebration and the nemesis of their sires' generation, the one and only Frankel.

It looks a belter, and not least because one horse on his last performance showed signs of exceptional class.

AL WUKAIR produced astonishing sectionals at Maisons-Laffitte and looks in with a fair crack of being the best 3-y-o miler in Europe this summer. Andre Fabre is in superb form, and has had this race mapped out for some time. Al Wukair's closing style, with a blazing turn of foot, is exactly what's needed for this race where they always go a little too fast.

Fabre is the master of getting horses ready for the big day - and for a team who buy specifically to attack top races over the 8fl trip, no race is more important to Al Shaqab than the 2000 Guineas. If he handles the track, 5/1 could feel très généreux post-race.

Good luck,

Al Wukair, 2pt win 11/2 B365, Sky, Sportingbet, 188Bet

** Feedback: Ballydoyle did a very professional job of controlling the race with modest fractions and serving up the rail for on a plate for Churchill. Al Wukair was most disadvantaged of the principals, being held up and making his run widest - for a horse light on experience he looks the one to take out of the race over this trip **

Allez, Allez! Andre Fabre trained Al Wukair, looks an exceptional talent for Al Shaqab
